The property had just about everything our family needed. Though the hotel was further from the center of action, it was a more practical and suitable choice for our family. I was pleasantly surprised. However, as luck would have it, we were able to secure the last available room at a Hilton subsidiary in the area, the Homewood Suites Virginia Beach.

A creature of habit, when it comes to traveling with my kids, I have to admit I was a tad disappointed and ready to cancel our trip. This particular weekend that we traveled, the weekend of a National cheerleading competition, of course the hotel was booked. Major eateries surround the hotel and central shopping is within walking distance. Normally our family stays at the Hilton Town Center because of its central location. The fact that our 2 and 6 year old are out of the infancy and toddler stages, respectively, has increased our comfort level and confidence, allowing us to be more adventurous and open-minded in all aspects of our travels.

After 2 years of traveling there, we finally ventured out and explored new waters, specifically, a new hotel. Virginia Beach is our family's monthly summer stomping ground.
